Path Along Dry Stone Walls

Highlight • Trail

In times of mechanized viticulture, professional dry-stone walls like this one are rarely built these days. It's a shame, as they provide optimal conditions for wine and a unique habitat for many rare animals and plants.

Slate Mine in Flachsbachtal

Highlight (Segment) • Historical Site

Descent from the Ausoniushütte / Ausoniusstein to the Moselle. The path usually follows the course of the Flachsbach and leads through trees on a slate mountain. Very romantic part.

Valley of the Thirteen Mills

Highlight • Historical Site

Wonderfully idyllic, but steep asphalt road in the Mühlental along numerous mills, some of which are comfortably furnished, others, however, have to defy even as a construction site or ruin of the weather.

I had actually only planned to do the "Moselsteig Side Trip Würzlaysteig," but then that seemed a bit short, so I decided to walk the entire Würzlaysteig. Since it's not a circular route, I looked for an alternative for the return trip. Not only because I like to take a different route, but also because the trail is extremely tick-infested …

Very nice tour 🤠Walked more or less freely. The Würzlaysteig is difficult! But there are two exits in the middle if it doesn't work anymore👍

Without the extensive breaks we made, the route can also be covered in just over three hours. The alpine climbing path just behind Lehmen can be bypassed if necessary.
