Planten un Blomen

Highlight • Natural Monument

Planten un Blomen is a 47 hectare park in the center of Hamburg. The name is in Low German meaning "plants and flowers". One of the most beautiful parks I have ever seen. The facility is just a dream. At the exit of the TV tower there is delicious ice cream and you can sit beautifully by the pond. Spacious with water fountains and a small river. The rose garden has many different varieties with a nice fragrance. Belongs to a visit to Hamburg necessarily

St. Pauli Piers

Highlight • Monument

The St. Pauli Landungsbrücken (St. Pauli Piers) are a striking ensemble of buildings along the Elbe River, a popular meeting place, a frequently photographed subject, the starting point for harbor tours, and the best vantage point overlooking the vast port area. The first wooden pier at this location was built in 1839. It served as a landing stage for steamers of the overseas lines, including the large HAPAG liners. The ships could be relatively easily loaded with coal from here; moreover, the risk of fire associated with the operation was minimized, and a sufficient safety distance was ensured. The current pier, built from 1907 onwards, consists of floating pontoons accessible from the mainland via nine movable bridges.

On the Brooksbrücke are the sculptures "Europa" (for Germania as a sign of the bond with its European neighbors) and "Hammonia" (Hamburg's patron goddess) on one side, as well as two other famous people, "St. Ansgar" (considered the religious founder ) and "Barbarossa" (regarded as a secular pioneer for free trade in the Hanseatic city.)

View of the Elbphilharmonie

Highlight • Viewpoint

Very beautiful landmark. Concerts are always booked out well in advance, but you can sometimes visit them for free and enjoy the view over the harbor from here.
