Kohlshorn Gravel Ponds

Highlight • Lake

Some lakes are still being mined, others are completely left to nature. Here you will meet many anglers and will surely find a nice spot on the shore.

This entire path along the ponds is closed. It belongs to the fishing club, the entrance has been blocked off and there are fines for entering the area without permission. What a shame.

It was a very nice tour, but the flooding has left its mark here too. The path by Kolshorner Lake near the town is not accessible at the moment, but lies in the pond and one or two benches are completely in the water.

My goodness, there were so many things that were forbidden on this route: fishing, swimming, boating, walking, driving. Well, we found our way anyway. And it's always amazing how different familiar terrain looks when it's covered in white...

Bright sunshine was forecast ☀️, but that was a complete mishmash!
Shades of grey and a bit of mud, as the frost had thankfully gone away... no cold hands and feet!

Started a little later with the hiking group because of rain 🌧️ and thus had a wonderful, sunny 🌤️ tour through forests, meadows, along gravel ponds and harvested fields 🌾.
The crowning conclusion in a nearby café with delicious cake and milky coffee! 🍰☕️

A walk with the hiking group from Beinhorn around the Kolshorn gravel pits.
Autumn mood, fog still lies over the meadows, but the sun fights its way through and provides SOME warmth!
Mushrooms 🍄‍🟫 peek out and finally the photogenic 😆 fly agarics 🍄🍄🍄 can be spotted 👌.
The journey is very convenient with the 900 bus 🚌, which stops …

Quarry lakes and fishing ponds right on our doorstep... actually absolutely beautiful... 🤗
However, the paths are now paved with prohibition signs prohibiting everything (typically German!!)❌🚫🚳⚠️ from swimming, boating, and even entering, some of which are "strictly" prohibited...
and there are always new and more sections being added in the Burgdorf area... TERRIBLE over-regulation 🙈
