Today we travel to the starting point of the EDT. First we fly from Hamburg to Faro. Then we take the train from Faro to Lagos and from there we cycle to Sagres.

Short ride today along the Algarve coast on a variety of paved and unpaved tracks with little traffic and many isolated beaches. Hotel overlooks the ocean and had a superb restaurant with fresh seafood and veggies served to bossa novafied English language pop covers. Finally tried the quintessential octopus and sweet potato stew which is better than it sounds.

After the flat Sagres, this tour was surprisingly mountainous, with a lot of wind and gravel. But we were rewarded with great jagged rocks just before Lagos. You have to go down long stairs to get to the beach, but you then go through caves to get to the next beach ⛱️
