Bunker 1 of the coastal battery with a destroyed gun. Although they could not be destroyed by Allied naval vessels, the crews were subdued by British soldiers.

German bunker

Highlight • Historical Site

A very well preserved, impressive part of the North Atlantic Wall. Very lonely during the week in February/March, almost spooky if you are there alone

An impressive view of the port artificiel in Arromanches. One looks with a little reverence at the remains of the pontoon port built by the Allies almost 80 years ago. A surprisingly well-preserved memorial

June 6, 2025,🇫🇷 - Von Arromanches-les-Bains zum Kap Manvieux
Today, another beautiful coastal hike with dramatic cloud formations, stunning views of the cliffs, and relics from the Second World War.

The Allies had built a makeshift harbor in Arromanches out of pontoons, concrete blocks, and shipwrecks, through which they brought in all their troops' supplies—soldiers, all kinds of vehicles, food, fuel, ammunition, tents—a gigantic logistical feat.

No water point on the course....
First part inland with superb views, the return by the path along the cliffs.
Given the landslides I think that one day this path will no longer be passable.

A very nice varied walk of which about half along croplands and the other along/over the cliffs to end/start at the old German anti-aircraft guns.
