For this year's Elbe-Elster Castle Night – my first, incidentally – I chose Doberlug Castle.

I still had plenty of time until the Castle Night began at 3:00 p.m., which I wanted to use for a short walk through the largely unfamiliar surroundings.

My general "catchment area" used to extend as far as Finsterwalde, but Doberlug-Kirchhain was a different story.
