The Hellental

At the entrance to the green Solling on top of the Mittelberge lies the Silberborner Moor. It stretches far between cheerful beech forests and serious fir forests. A lot of water flows out of its deep peat bog cushions, over which the white cotton grass flakes nod.

This beautiful Solling valley with its extensive farming is always worth a hike. In Hellental there is a great little museum (The Bakery). From Hellental you can explore the Solling in different directions. There is a great tour to the Mecklenbruch raised bog near Silberborn. This section is also part of the Loccum-Volkenroda pilgrimage route.
