Recreational area with picnic tables and barbecue area. With source. Next to the road but it is very quiet. Close to the Empty Mountains route, from which you barely have to deviate.

Zafrilla River Trail

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Beautiful ravine that you arrive at from Zafrilla. The road is wide and in good condition. After the rains we can find a puddle and some mud.

Roman Bridge of Zafrilla

Highlight • Bridge

Roman-era bridge over the Zafrilla River.
Inscription on the plaque:
The passage of the Romans through this municipality has left us with numerous magnificent buildings. The materials used are always from Roman times, and in this case, ashlar from the nearby La Hoz quarry. The magnificent bridge over the Zafrilla River has been completely preserved since its construction; the Roman road above it is still visible. Unfortunately, the passage of time has destroyed part of its structure.

Stone bridge

Highlight • Bridge

Just as we leave Zafrilla heading towards the mountains, as well as leaving the asphalt road, we cross a ford of the village stream, along whose bank lies a stone bridge of possible Roman origin, although it is more likely of later date, but it is striking for its design and its fairly good state of preservation. It is currently closed to vehicle traffic.

Spring and washhouse

Highlight • Structure

We're in the town of Zafrilla, and in the lower part of the village, there's a spring or fountain near some old washhouses where women used to go to wash clothes. These are now preserved as a reminder of the past, although no one goes there to wash clothes anymore.
There are also barbecues for spending a day outdoors.

After the bar La Pulga in the previous location closed on Wednesdays, this bar saved us - great food, great coffee and a very friendly owner!
