Along the pink granite coast

Highlight • Monument

The Rose Granite Coast of Brittany is truly beautiful, a walking paradise in Plouganace, Tregastel and Perrros -Guirec. Please note that you occasionally have to climb over the rocks. We would like to praise Komoot without the app we would never have reached such beautiful places. Whether it is Germany, Austria, Italy or France, Komoot surprises us every time with beautiful walks.

Devil's Chapel

Highlight • Other

The Devil's Chapel is adorned with horned gargoyles but it would only be a boathouse in fact.

Mean Ruz Lighthouse

Highlight • Monument

The Phare de Ploumanac’h stands in the middle of the rugged granite rocks. (officially: Phare de Mean Ruz). It was built around 1860, destroyed during the war and rebuilt in 1946. It is one of the many beautiful highlights in this region that are worth seeing.

Rock formation near Ploumanac'h

Highlight • Natural Monument

A very well-maintained hiking trail leads through the pink granite cliffs of Ploumanach’h. They are over 300 million years old and cover an area of 25 hectares. Great.

Customs Trail

Highlight (Segment) • Other

No trekking poles are required for the tour, and some are even explicitly forbidden. There are only a few shady sections, so take good care of the sun. We did the tour shortly after the low tide started. Then you have more water on the way between the rocks and in the bays. We liked this better than on the way back, as the sea had already made very scarce.
In Perros-Guirec and a few other places along the Sentier there is plenty of parking.

After almost 7.5 years reunion with Perros-Guirec. Paddy's 1st holiday in May 2015. Driven there in the rain, but on arrival only sun and dry weather. But a strong wind, which makes the sea so beautiful here. In 2015, a lot of pictures were taken, now less. Enjoyed the pink rocks, the violence of the sea, the many islands off …

Today we went a bit towards West Brittany. We stay 4 nights in Lanvéoc, but took a detour to visit the town of Ploumanac'h. Once a fishing village, now a tourist attraction because of the pink rocks. They are 300 million years old and have special shapes, worn out by wind and weather.
Really strangely beautiful! Never seen anything like …

The most beautiful stretch of the Pink Granite Coast. Quite busy, but beautiful!

A touch of magic fills the air as soon as you begin your hike in Saint-Guirec, a charming coastal town in Perros-Guirec, Brittany. The landscape is otherworldly: gigantic, rounded rock formations of pink granite rise into the sky like petrified waves, while the turquoise-green sea rolls gently onto the shore.

The second hike of a small peninsula today. It also offers very nice views of the Breton coast and great rock formations. A highlight is the really remarkable lighthouse from 1860. The castle, which can be seen in two photos, is also interesting. The actor Dieter Hallervorden bought it and had it restored.

Beautiful rock formations, but also crowded in summer.
