An obligatory stop, this structure allows you to access the banks of the Secchia river, therefore from the Reggio Emilia or Modena side; interesting is the stretch that leads to the Pescale area, a sandstone rock complex about 30 meters high.

Above the terraced surface located on the hydrographic right, at the southern end of the Stretta del Pescale, and locally called "Il Castellaro", it came into existence between the end of the 5th (or the beginning of the 4th) millennium and the end of the 3rd millennium (4,000- 2,800 BC) a Neolithic settlement. The remains of the settlement came to light starting from the end of the nineteenth century with the investigations of Giovanni Canestrini, professor of zoology at the University of Modena, and Gaetano Chierici. In particular, the Reggio Emilia archaeologist Gaetano Chierici carried out, in 1866, some archaeological tests in the north-northeast sector of the terrace, which led to the discovery of the Neolithic settlement and, in the superficial layers of the settlement, the remains of an Eneolithic village (3,500- 1,800)

January 27, 2024,"Fuga dalla nebbia" Torrente Tiepido - Puianello - Castelvetro
"Escape from the fog" is the name I gave to this ride.
A half hour drive with bike in tow was enough to escape the grip of the fog in the lower Reggio Emilia plain.
It is a tour that I often do, I travel by car to Modena and from there, by bike I head towards the first hills …

Two sections, on via gainello, make you do with a push bike both for the ascent and for the bottom battered by deep furrows. Refreshments at the sanctuary, but it takes money for the automatic machines
