One of the castles and strongholds for the defense of the territory which stands on one of the two promontories of the Adriatic Sea (San Bartolo) and which together with Castel di Mezzo and Gradara formed a formidable sighting line.

Fiorenzuola di Focara

Highlight • Settlement

Following the hairpin bends along the panoramic road you arrive at Fiorenzuola di Focara, a medieval village with splendid views of the Adriatic Sea, in the Monte San Bartolo natural park. In the past it was known only as Fiorenzuola, but in 1889 Focara was added, probably due to the fires fired to direct those sailing by boat.

The city is located on Mount Accio in the north of the Marche region, in the province of Pesaro Urbino on the border with Emilia Romagna. From its height you can see the city of Cesenatico, Rimini with its majestic skyscraper, Portoverde as well as the rolling hills of the Marche hinterland.

This time right in through the Parco Nationale Monte de Bartolo - wonderful!! Views, experiences, route simply everything! After a while you get used to one or the other driving maneuvers of the Italians... only stupid if you look for a café or shop after 30km at what feels like 38°C, where you can refill your caffeine and liquid supplies …

After the (more or less unforeseen) breakdown and the resulting loss of time, I simply continued with the planned tour anyway – or perhaps even more so – and set off towards Gabbice Monte, Monte San Bartolo Natural Park, following the motto "let's see how far we get":-)
And it happened as it had to: although I've driven the route …
