Franciscan Church in Drohiczyn Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary - according to the monastic tradition recorded in 1797 by Father Karol Gaudent Żero (1743–1802) in the work entitled: "Fenix de pulveribus resuscitatus svaviter suam candit modulenam" the Franciscan convent in Drohiczyn was founded by Mikołaj Nassuta, mentioned in 1430 as starost of Drohiki. The monks were to settle in a square called "The Corner" (Angulus).

At that time, the owner of the neighboring village of Korczew, Krystyna Ostrowska, began to try to rebuild the church and monastery of the Benedictine Sisters. In 1919, the Committee for the Reconstruction of the Church and Monastery of the Benedictine Sisters was established. Thanks to his activities, also in the interwar period, the vaults were renovated, windows were fitted and floors were installed. At that time, the temple served as a school church.
