Singletrack Along the Allier River

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Monotrace path (after the football fields of Pont du Château and along the Allier) almost impassable by mountain bike due to very invasive vegetation, steep portions where you have to put your feet down, and currently blocked by trees!

Inaugurated in 1889, this Eiffel-type road bridge was recently restored with the addition of two separate lanes to make it safer for pedestrians/cyclists to cross the Allier River.

Pathway by the Allier River

Highlight • Trail

Near the Allier, this passage offers a bit of flatness in the middle of a hilly landscape. A pleasant place mixing woods and bodies of water.

This is a route that could not have existed five years ago. Thanks to the deployment of the metropolitan cycle plan and the Via Allier greenway, this 52-kilometer tour connects several municipalities in the Clermont-Ferrand metropolitan area: Lempdes, Pont-du-Château, Les Martres-de-Veyre, Le Cendre and Cournon. Ideal for an after-work or a Sunday outing on beautiful gravel tracks!
