October 9, 2024,No Imagination
I thought and thought about what I could do that's new from my home. I got nothing. So I rode and didn't think so much :) Nice temps!
March 10, 2024,End of Winter
Maybe 50 degrees at the start, my ears really felt the chill. But mid 70s are predicted for later this week. Still need more training, my right quads cramped.
September 4, 2024,Solar Lethargy
It really wasn't as hot as forecast, and I like the heat, but I must admit today it sapped at my strength, what bit I have. The opposite effect of solar energy. And all that new road coating basically sucks a bit for us cyclists, with ripples, lumps and crap.
December 7, 2022,SM - Huddart - Woodside
Temps in the 50s. Some sun, some clouds. Shady roads still wet. Thought this would be a 40-miler, but at the end I was feeling chilly so I just aimed home. Interested to note that, today anyway, 1 foot of elevation equaled 1 calorie burned, roughly.
June 19, 2024,Busy Busy Busy
Wheels all over the road. Unusually so. Bikes, cars and trucks. No horses today. I sure hope everybody got where they were going. Being retired, I set out this morning oblivious to the fact that today is Juneteenth! You know the holiday thing is working when the people aren't.
It's really not big enough. I don't see what the fuss is about.
I've had too much time off the bike. I felt wobbly. But they say the weather is finally drying up, and warming up. (42F / 9C degrees this morning!) That will do wonders for my motivation.
January 12, 2023,Out'n'Back on Cañada
Surprisingly nice day. 65 degrees on Cañada. 92 was closed in both directions so it was weird doing that 1km leg from lower Skyline to Cañada with NO cars. Also the Sawyer Trail is now almost completely closed. Just the southern-most 2-mile segment is open. A great tailwind coming home!
