The Main winds its way idyllically through the valley. Especially around Unter- and Oberbrunn you will find a wonderful landscape with numerous altars and lakes. A look over the lush green meadows shows Markt Ebensfeld.

Bad Staffelstein Town Hall

Highlight • Monument

Bad Staffelstein, just a few kilometers south of Lichtenfels.
The place has a very nice old building structure with many half-timbered houses, such as the town hall.
The Kurpark is also interesting and recommendable.

Great photo motif. Behind the historic wayside cross and the wayside shrine, the Staffelberg rises majestically.

September 18, 2021,Main Tour Kemmern bis Staffelstein
This afternoon we started from Kemmern. Our destination Bad Staffelstein. Via Breitengüßbach, we continued to Rattelsdorf, Ebing, Zapfendorf, Unterleiterbach, Ebensfeld to the Staffelstein spa gardens. After a short stay, we went along the Main Cycle Path via Niederau, Oberbrunn, Unterbrunn, past many quarry ponds to Ebing back to Kemmern. The reward was a stop at the Wagner brewery. Great tour. …

Spontaneously free, sun-drenched – we took the train to Bad Staffelstein with our bikes. Without a big plan, but with a keen desire for nature and exercise.

From the train station, we headed straight toward the Main River, always following the river. The route led through charming towns like Rattelsdorf, Zapfendorf, Breitengüßbach, and Hallstadt – each with its own flair …

Today we went from Bamberg-Hallstadt towards Bad Staffelstein. First we went up to the Panz monastery, the climb is quite steep. An imposing building. Then we went towards the Fourteen Saints, one of the most important baroque churches in Europe..also high but not very steep.
After lunch we went back down and towards Bamberg. A nice tour.

After the stay in. Michelau with good food and a good night's sleep, today it was a comfortable ride to Bamberg, where I took a bit of city culture with me, unfortunately got quite wet, but it dries up again

Along the Main in sunny weather. I didn't sweat today. 😁

Addendum:
Yes, I did walk through the city: It's very large, with lots of lovely old buildings. Worth seeing!

(No photos because it was raining again)

The main highlight of this Steckenabachnittes are the many pilgrimage routes and pilgrimage churches along the way. Unfortunately, the Banz Monastery does not offer a view and is better viewed from below. The Mainweg would lead past Bamberg. A construction site due to the construction of a new bike path or dam is a bit confusing just before the city. …
