Today, in the best weather, I hiked along the very full Vils, partly under a green canopy of leaves. Highlights: the weir and the Taferlsee. Unfortunately, the Eineder farm in Schönerting doesn't open until 4 p.m., but I can highly recommend it after a stop in 2023.

A scenic circular hike along the Vils River, initially along the nature trail (Lebendige Vils) and then through the Vils-Engtal Nature Reserve. An interesting themed trail about granite mining and its transformation into a nature reserve. This loop runs mostly on shady forest paths, with the final section on asphalt, offering beautiful views of the idyllic river floodplain landscape.
