Ascent of Col du Tourmalet from Sainte-Marie-de-Campan

Highlight (Segment) • Mountain Pass

Undoubtedly the toughest section.
The climb begins well before Sainte-Marie de Campan.
The start in Bagnères-de-Bigorre seems to me to be the most representative way to appreciate the Tourmalet as a whole.

1st half quite rolling with the possibility of turning the legs. Endless 2nd half, the mongie is a false joy despite the view of the pass which is still far away.
Beware of those who have not worked on the strength upstream because the velocity will not be enough.
