View of Grimma and the Mulde River

Highlight • Viewpoint

Until 2008, the beautiful river Mulde even gave the surrounding district its name. Then the Muldentalkreis was merged with the Leipzig district.

Of course, hiking in the Muldental is still fantastic. Among other things, on this idyllic path.

Pöppelmann Bridge (Grimma)

Highlight • Bridge

If you had to choose between the concrete bridge and the baroque Pöppelmann Bridge, it would be clear.
It's a shame that such architecture no longer exists.
Great bridge with hollows and city views.

February 27, 2022,Grimma-Höfgen-Grimma, heute bei 🌞🌞🌞
Today we did the tour in the most beautiful weather after we had canceled last week. Tip in Grimma the ice cream parlor Eibeck. Delicious ice cream 🍦🍧🍨 and drinks are currently in the street sale on Sundays from 13-17 pm. ☕ The people cluster shows the way there.

Today it's supposed to be the Mulde valley, the weather is predicting sun ☀️ at 18°, so off to Höfgen. I was here for the first time in 2001 on a school trip and since then I've been coming here more often 🥰, so beautiful 👍🌳💦⚓.
So start in Höfgen on the 🅿️ and always along the Mulde to Grimma …

A few quick pictures at the Mulde and in the Grimma city forest before the white splendor falls victim to the thaw next week. ⛄️🙋‍♂️📸🌞

With plenty of sunshine ☀️ at 16°C, we headed to Höfgen on the Mulde. We continued along the Mulde, following the Stone Path 🪨 to Grimma with its Jutta Park and Bismarck Tower, which we discovered for the first time. You get a beautiful view from up there.

Unfortunately, we were not able to take the ferry in Höfgen, as a crossing is only possible from Easter.

We start our tour 🚶🚶‍♀️ at the free parking lot 🚘 on the Mulde in Grimma.
Past the castle and high school to the Nostalgie Cafe.
2 p.m., ⏰️the cafe ☕️ has just opened.
We were the first guests so I had time to take pictures 📷 in peace and quiet. Less than a quarter of an hour ⏰️ later …

A beautiful tour, Grimma surprised me in a positive way, in some places you can see how high the water was and how much money has been invested so that the next disasters will hopefully not be quite as bad. The forest has a great color and we had a really good meal in the water mill, they coordinate their …

Set off in the sunshine and arrived in Höfgen in thick fog. The sun didn't show up on the hike, but despite everything it was a wonderful tour 👍
The watermill in Höfgen is worth a visit!
