As you set out from the South Trailhead, you'll find yourself on a mostly flat, well-maintained path of crushed rock, concrete, and even elevated boardwalks, designed for easy access. Keep an eye out for the restored covered bridge about 1.2 miles north, a charming landmark. While there isn't a true loop from this specific trailhead, you'll follow the greenway north and return the same way, with the option to explore a smaller loop around the high school complex. Swan Creek Park, further north along the trail, provides amenities like restrooms, picnic areas, and a playground. Sections of the trail near the high school are illuminated at night, offering flexibility for evening strolls.
