Casa de Postas or Parador de Afuera de Tembleque

Highlight • Historical Site

This is a huge 18th century mansion. The building was built in 1777, the year that appears in an inscription located in the upper right corner of the main door. This typical Manchegan mansion served as quarters for the horses stationed on the roads for the postal service or for other people. Later it served as barracks for the Civil Guard, as rental housing, as workshops for the Tembleque Workshop School and as a meeting place for the different local associations. The main door and the façade around it are in relatively good condition, but the side roofs have collapsed and the whole complex is in danger of collapsing. The interior cannot be accessed.

Church of San Martín de Lillo

Highlight • Religious Site

The settlement of Lillo goes way back in history. Archaeological remains continue to appear in nearby sites dating from around 1500-1300 BC.
It concentrates a good number of heritage in the form of hermitages, a convent and a spectacular church.
If you are visiting it by bicycle, I recommend that you go to the lagoons, full of birds.
