Gumpenkar

Highlight • Trail

This shortcut is only recommended uphill. Very steep, unmarked and lots of gravel. Down towards the valley, it's massive on knees and thighs😬. Greetings from my sore muscles 👋

Marmot Valley

Highlight • Gorge

If you pass the nameless saddle between Gamsjoch and Gumpenspitze on the way to the Gamsjoch, you should definitely have binoculars with you. There are reliable marmots and chamois to watch. And without binoculars, fire salamanders along the way.

Gamsjoch East Summit

Highlight • Summit

The main summit is often described as difficult because the ridge is very exposed. However, with caution and sure footing, it can be reached from the summit cross in a relatively short time.

The Teufelskopf was more challenging to walk than the Gamsjoch. Sometimes you had to climb on all fours. Gamsjoch is just gravel and steep - in the end like a lunar landscape.
@Akky Thanks for the tip about the gutter - we didn't climb it, we descended it. Nice shortcut - but quite steep - like the ramps on Lake …
