Cycle paths on the dike have the advantage that you have a good view. This makes riding a bike more fun. 😎

Ochtum Flood Barrier and Lock

Highlight • Structure

The Ochtum barrage is a comparatively small barrage. That's what makes it so charming. Sometimes a mobile snack bar is also open there.

Beautiful, fairly new asphalt path along the Weser. Can be walked or cycled on both sides of the dyke. With access to Altenesch.

If you have a really nice headwind, the path is a sporting challenge, or if you have a tailwind, it's a great race track.... "But always pay attention to the others"!

August 24, 2022,Weitere Etappe Weser Radweg von Bremen nach Brake bis zur schönen Unterkunft "Die Lùttje Koje"
Today a stage as a continuation of our Fulda Weser Tour from June 2022. This only went to Verden.
I rode one of the four stages I still had to complete.
The bike path, the nature, everything is convincing. The Lüttje bunk in Brake is recommended as accommodation, also because of the nice management.

July 12, 2024,Tag 1: Bremen - Brake
We had wanted to go on a longer bike trip (again) for a long time, but never really got going. After we got a new e-bike, however, it went pretty quickly. We set off on the first stage of the 4-day tour from Bremen to Brake full of anticipation and, because of the 60 kilometers ahead of us and because …

Delayed departure from Bremen today, as the return journey from Cuxhaven was organized with Deutsche Bahn. Nothing worked with the app.
A little bit of rain didn't deter us and with one, two, three ice cream breaks we got there on time for the Vietnamese dinner in the Lotus Bistro, sooooo delicious and nobody believes the prices!!!
We continued to …

What a beautiful tour through the Wesermarsch, whether on top of the dike or behind it. The wind came from the front, back and right, there was nothing on the left 😂. Now the Weser has become a river, lots of ships to look at. My path took me to Harriasand, Europe's largest sand island. I found out about the …

We left Bremen around 8:30 a.m. and headed toward Ovelgönne.
There were well-developed bike paths everywhere, and the option to cycle on the sidewalk.
Unfortunately, we missed our destination for breakfast in Pusdorf after 5 km, so we cycled 22.8 km to Lemwerder, which we reached around 10:00 a.m. Finally, breakfast!
The route led us partly along the top of …

Today we continued to Bremen. It stayed dry.
You can go backwards without pedaling. Quite a lot of headwind.
I cycled from Hann. Münden to Bremen 20 years ago. That's probably enough. The most beautiful section was yesterday along the coast to the ports of Bremerhaven.
I walked a good eight kilometers in Bremen. Unfortunately I couldn't record it because …

After yesterday we drove from Bremerhaven to Sandstedt via the Weser Cycle Path, today we continued on the route to Bremen. Unfortunately, you didn't see much of the Weser until Lemwerder, but from there until just before Bremen we had a very nice view of the water. All in all it was a really nice tour

The weather report was against us again 😖⛈ - the weather wasn't. 😎🌞🌡 However, this also led to insufficient use of sunscreen. 😯🙈
The tour first took us through the great city center of Bremen 👍, then through the industrial area 🧐 and finally to the Weser. But the subsequent piece to Lemwerder was purely cycle track (based on "Autobahn"): …
