How gratifying that the heavy rain front passed through last night! This allows us to drive comfortably over the V30, which is well-developed with tightly packed, fine gravel and sand. However, the wet sand also sticks well to the tires and sprays up to the panniers and brake pistons of the disc brakes.

Today's route led us along the canalized Somme. The cycle path was in excellent condition, so we cycled comfortably and effortlessly through the quiet, green landscape.
