Hill of Fare Summit Cairn

Highlight • Viewpoint

A stone cairn marks the summit. Don't get confused by the slightly lower cairn, just as you come onto the plateau. The true summit cairn is slightly further along and off the path to the left - easy to miss.

December 26, 2024,Boxing Day hike
Dreich walk up Hill of Fare. Not much of a view today. Briefly thought I was hearing bagpipes, before realising it was a mountain biker's wet and squeaky breaks. 😆
It was a beautiful sunny day and snowy on the hill. Path was a little icy in some sections. Encountered kids sledding and a family cross-country skiing.

There is a small car park off the B993. The initial route follows a wide forestry road and then continues straight up a small track (used by mountain bikers too - be aware).
