Well, the tour wasn't completely without reason. I've had it on my list for years. The weather radar also promised sunshine from midday onwards, unlike south of Hanova. (Promise kept!) Awesome tour!!

The dark, oxygen-poor water of the Bottomless Lake makes it look as if the lake has an infinite depth. Hence the name.

On our way back from our conference in Hildesheim, we managed to squeeze in a short hike. In perfect weather, we explored the lovely Grundloses Moor nature reserve with its Grundlose See (Bottomless Lake) and other small moorland lakes.

And, true to form, we also included a short, adventurous section off-trail, which made this hike possible in the first place.
