May 29, 2023,Empese en Tondense Heide Rondje vanuit Klein-Amsterdam
Started at the Coöperatie in Klein-Amsterdam.
Started early for me, walking at 10 am. Advantage: not too hot and quiet in terms of walkers.
Got a beautiful route from Komoot.
Beautiful nature and varied landscape.
This route is slightly longer and different from the marked walk
of Natural Monuments.
I enjoyed 😍

Lovely walk, waterproof shoes are recommended! I should have read this sooner!

The Empese and Tondense Heide is a nature reserve of around 260 hectares in the municipality of Brummen, province of Gelderland, Netherlands. Despite the name, these are not classic heathlands, but a diverse landscape of wet meadows, moors, small ponds and scattered trees and bushes. This mosaic of …

Today, however, at the end of August, a completely different picture emerged: There was hardly anything left of the lake landscape, the …

Sunday morning 7.30 quiet, encountered 1 hiker. In wet season it is soaking here. Now ..... nowhere to find water, at the bridge a tiny bit of water.

The Empense and Tondense Heide is in my opinion one of the most beautiful nature reserves in our area. We love to come here (especially on Sunday mornings) to walk around. Nature is very varied here and there is always something to see. Natuurmonumenten is very active here to enlarge the area and restore it to its original state. It …

A good night of rain preceded this walk in this surprising piece of nature just north of Hall. Soggy paths interspersed with decking meander through the peat and grass area. To top it off you will come across a cute information hut with explanations about the area. Highly recommended this walk.
