The new project for Piazzale Kennedy in Rimini was born from the idea of covering one of the most important Italian hydraulic works, offering citizens a new square on the sea, which today presents itself as a space for social aggregation. This area, once occupied by the mouth of the Ausa canal, was devoid of quality, despite being in a central position. The aim of Mijic Architects was to create a space that responded to the hydraulic and citizen needs. The project involved the construction of enormous underground tanks for collecting rainwater and above-ground technical rooms, covering them with ramps on which pedestrians can admire the sea (belvedere). Inaugurated in 2020 after 4 years of work, this real suspended "promenade" today represents the hinge between the seafront and the park system.
