Exhausting and difficult when wet but great way to the falls once you made it to the top. Good views

Steep Slope but nice view

From here you have a better view of Muckross Lake and Lough Leane than from the summit of Torc Mountain, especially when the clouds are low.
As Till has already written, there is an even better spot towards Torc Waterfall, as there are fewer trees there than at the marked point.

However, you should be a bit fit for the 270-metre climb, mainly over steep, rocky steps from the path along the road below. This is the recommended direction of walking and it makes sense, as the steps are narrow (oncoming traffic is not so good) and it is better and safer to go up them than down.

Alternatively, you can also make a detour from the bridge above the waterfall and then go back the same way.

The view is actually even better from the summit of Torc Mountain.

At the bridge you can also walk a few meters along the water. Fantastic 🙂

Torc Waterfall

Highlight • Waterfall

Torc Waterfall is located in the heart of Killarney National Park and is easily accessible on foot. Its highest point is 20 meters (66 feet). A worthwhile destination on any hike (e.g., on the way to Torc Mountain or along the Kerry Way).
