The beautiful "Canal-du-Centre" connects the Saône with the Loire 🦆. From Chagny at 200 m, the canal climbs up to 310 m. In the last steep section there are 7 locks in quick succession! 😁

At the top, the Eurovelo 6 cycle path runs past the pretty "Lac du Montchanin" which feeds the canal.

Shortly after leaving Paray le Monial we have the option of following the ev6 or following the Canal du Centre on the D974, the Canal is more monotonous but much flatter and more direct. At the end of Montceau, before reaching Blanzy, we return to the ev6.
