The small road connects the municipality of Sigriswil with Beatenberg at an altitude of approximately 1,000 meters. The paved route winds through the forest and along rugged cliffs, offering frequent beautiful views of Lake Thun. About halfway along the route, it continues straight ahead in a 180-degree turn into the scenic Justis Valley.

In the section near Beatenberg, the road passes through two tunnels, each approximately 200 meters long, which feature a spectacular stone window offering a good view of Lake Thun. Lighting is highly recommended here.

Please note that the Justis Valley - Beatenberg section of the road is closed for the winter between November and April. The exact opening times can be found on the Sigriswil municipal website.

The panoramic route along Lake Thun can also be used well as a base route in winter. In the spring / summer / fall, however, is expected to be a lot of traffic and you should drive very carefully.

scenically grandiose, in terms of traffic a catastrophe. although it is a designated cycle route ("61"), there are no indications of any kind for car and motorcyclists to see cyclists. no protective strips, no bicycle symbols on the road, no reference to minimum distances, nada, niente. The Swiss gasoline heads faction behaves accordingly. So unfortunately no recommendation despite the fantastic …

It's pretty hilly here in the Bernese Oberland
😀 😃 🙂 but where it goes uphill, it also goes downhill: wonderful descent from Beatenberg to Unterseen and almost no traffic in the Kreuz....
.....and I just had to go to the Justistal again because of the history (see
"Senior Tour")
