April 22, 2025,...🥾Kammweg über den Harly 🌳🌿🪵...
...we start from the train station in Vienenburg on the ridge path over the Harly.
The Harly is a 256 m high ridge with a nature reserve rich in flora 🌱🌿🌳 and fauna 🐛🐌.

The first destination is the Harly Tower... built in 1845 as a landmark of Vienenburg, it was extensively renovated by the IGV association in 1987. The …

The ridge path is fantastic.
The giant sequoia is truly remarkable.
The August Cave isn't worth mentioning.
The Wöltingerode Monastery is beautiful, and the farm shop is a great place to stop for a break.

We started our hiking weekend in the Harz Mountains with this lovely tour. We quickly entered the forest and soon found ourselves on our much-loved singletrack trails. Since the weather cooperated, we were able to enjoy the sunshine, though unfortunately not the view from the Harley Tower. But that wasn't a problem; it's sure to be beautiful when it's finished.

As part of this year's family reunion, we once again went on short hikes. This was one of two offered. It led us along the ridge path to the Harlyturm, which was unfortunately closed today. After a short detour to the sequoia tree and a "cave," we returned to Wöltingerode Monastery. There, we'll have a tour of the distillery later …

Today a relaxed (enjoyment) hike from Wöltingerode Monastery to Lake Vienenburg and the Harly Tower. Unfortunately the tower is (still) closed 😪. The ILE stamps 29 and 30 were collected.

Another (herbal) soda plus liqueur, another ice cream, another Prosecco, or even two,
a bit of Lake Vienenburger, a bit of Harlywald and a bit of Wöltingerode...
In the finest sunshine, "pleasure hiking" with collecting ILE stamps was on the program yesterday:
Starting at the Wöltingerode monastery, we were stranded in front of the stamp box in the farm shop …

In terms of landscape, the "small" Vorharz has a lot more to offer than the large Harz. Intact forests, beautiful paths and actually also stamping points ☺️ A tour that was a lot of fun 🙂 @Flo133 clear TODO

Not quite the Harz yet, but pretty close: With the best spring weather, we went to Vienenburg today to our start/finish point at the Wöltingerode monastery. From there on partly wide, partly narrow forest paths high on the Harly, then on to Vienenburg. There railway nostalgia at Germany's oldest preserved railway station and the adjoining open-air railway museum. The way …
