You can get almost to the top by bus or car. At the top you have to show your ticket and you can only get it online. It's stupid if you don't know that, because there is no network up there. Of course, that won't happen on an organized hiking trip. But the guide couldn't get rid of the clouds …

If you plan to visit the crater (Il gran cono), make sure you book a ticket ahead online. The Tickets are limited and only valid for the exact entry time. Lots of people (including us) got rejected at the gate since the tickets had been sold out for today!
