The sculpture path in Bienenbüttel leads you through the beautiful natural area of the Heide River Ilmenau. Not only the landscape of the Ilmenau lowlands will impress you on the way. Again and again your eyes will see sculptures that have been wonderfully integrated into the landscape of the Ilmenau valley.

In 2005, small stone towers and wooden figures were discovered along today's sculpture path. These little tricks were a mystery at first, because nobody knew who they came from. They were created by the then unknown artist Benjamin Redeleit, who drew the attention of many hikers and the interest of the Bienenbüttel community with his simple yet memorable art in the landscape. Then the idea was born to install an 8.5 km long sculpture path in the natural area of the Ilmenau.

A total of 11 artists came together and realized the sculpture path in the natural area of the Ilmenau. Each artist created an art object along the way. The materials of the art objects are very different - from wood to stone and metal to plastic - all materials have been processed by the artists into wonderful sculptures.

Bienenbüttel Station

Highlight • Rest Area

The Bienenbüttel station is on the Hanover – Hamburg railway line.

March 6, 1848, the train service to Bienenbüttel began.

The current station building was erected in 1938/39. In 2005 the station underwent an extensive renovation. The renovation also included the installation of elevators to the connecting tunnel. The station building is no longer used as a train station, but has been converted into a restaurant.

Today, trains from the metronome connect Bad Bevensen with Hamburg and Uelzen at approximately every hour.
