Our 4th tour on Madeira was originally planned as a high-altitude trail connecting the Pico do Arieiro (1818m) with the Pico Ruivo (1862m).
Due to forest fires and rockfalls, the trail was closed after 1/3 below the Pico do Arieiro.
We therefore decided to climb the Pico Ruivo separately via the eastern route.
