We started in Betzenstein at -1°C. Beautiful paths through deciduous forests and across meadows to the western approach to the Eibgrat ridge. The path along the ridge is currently a bit tricky due to the abundance of wet leaves... but beautiful nonetheless 🤩. A great hike, even if the weather wasn't quite as sunny as predicted.

It rained again this morning! We have planned a hike to the Eibengrat today.

First we climb the observation tower on the Oberer Schmidberg. The view of Betzenstein, the smallest town in Franconia, is worthwhile. A section of the town wall has been renovated and beautifully restored.
