Beautiful, well-developed hiking trail with some viewpoints over the Höllental. After the reopening on 12.05.2019 again one of the highlights in Höllental.

Volcanic activity during prehistoric times shaped this region. In the Neolithic period, the course of the Selbitz river sawed up to 170 meters deep into the volcanic rock and created a narrow gorge.

View of Höllental

Highlight • Viewpoint

A truly enjoyable hike. Some of the trails run close to the slope, so it's not for those with vertigo. But the views are simply fantastic.👍

At this idyllic weir, water is dammed for the power plant in the Höllental Valley. Below the weir, you can dip your feet into the water and refresh yourself.

The romantic Höllental with the viewpoints König David and Hirschsprung is one of the "hiking and cycling hot spots" in the Franconian Forest. Further sights: Jungfernsteg and Teufelssteg, Höllenthal hydroelectric power station with its 36-meter high water fountain.

Without much ado, the Höllental valley with its rocky path was great for running today. Hardly any mud, no black ice, but still nice and frozen.
