Forest Pond with Frogs

Highlight • Natural

The pond is slowly integrating into the forest. It usually has plenty of water; the remaining smaller depressions are mostly dry and only have water during heavy rain.

September 24, 2024,Unterwegs wieder mal im Raffa
Today we went on another short tour to Raffa. Pleasant autumnal weather, no rain accompanied us along well-known forest paths with wonderful air. Unfortunately the frog school was already closed => where are the frogs in winter? Greetings

We were out and about in Raffa today in warm 5 degrees plus. The forest paths are still covered in frozen slush, making them partly slippery and partly slippery. The 630 meters of elevation measured by Komoot are a bit exaggerated; the real elevation is around 200 to 250 meters.

Today we were out and about in Raffa again. We left Burglengenfeld and went along forest paths towards Birkensee, Holzheim and then back. The air is clean and wonderful, we can smell mushrooms; the forest is sprouting, growing and blooming in all its splendor. Only the persistent mosquitoes are a nuisance to the walk.

Today we were out and about in Raffa before the heavy rain. The path to the right and left was lined with lupines, ferns and bluebells. Of course we also visited the frog school.

For our Tuesday round we are out in the forest again today. It's nice to see the first buds sprouting on the bushes.

Today we were out in the woods again in summer weather. I'm not feeling well; the almonds are busy. The forest is now in its full glory and is hiding itself again. The frogs and slowworms are out and about, and we cross their paths.

Today we were out and about in Raffa again in sunshine and 12 degrees. The forest is still very light and you can see the steep climbs to the right and left of the path; the impression that only the paths have gentle inclines is misleading. It doesn't matter, we're staying on the paths. We found forest floor debris twice …

We were out and about in Raffa again today. An easy tour for just under 2 hours. The forest is still charged from the last light rain showers and is blooming, sprouting and growing in all sorts of nooks and crannies. The air is wonderful. Greetings from Wurzelsepp and Froschschule.
