Lapidarium and World War I Memorial in Cisewo

The Lapidarium in Cisewo is a historic sepulchral lapidarium established on the grounds of the former evangelical cemetery, located on the northern edge of the village of Cisewo (Kobylanka commune, Stargard county). The necropolis was probably founded at the end of the 18th century. The oldest preserved and legible tombstone in this area dates back to 1860. Next to it is the historic building of the former school from 1913. After World War II, the cemetery was devastated. In 2006, the destroyed graves were tidied up, and the scattered, historic stone and cast-iron tombstone elements were collected and exhibited, creating an official lapidarium. The central point is an obelisk – a former monument dedicated to the village residents (then Zimmermannshorst) who fell in World War I. During the renovation, a modern memorial plaque was attached to it.

The square in Kobylanka, the arrangement of which is closely related to the linden tree "Wieniec Zgody" growing nearby. There is a fountain in the center of the square. Its water, constantly sprinkling the tree, is supposed to symbolize the continuity of the idea of harmony and reconciliation. Around it, 10 intricately worked stone slabs with engraved information about the most important villages of the commune were placed. They represent 10 villages.
