A baroque church whose interior is beautiful. Frescoes on the ceiling, a stately altar with ornaments. The church is located near the market, so it's easy to get to. A place where you can calm down. It is also a monument of the highest class, so being in Chojnice it is worth taking a look there.
In 1610, Fr. Jan Gleissen Dorengowski, pastor of the parish of Ścina Ścięgny. John the Baptist asked the Primate of Poland, Wojciech Baranowski, to bring the Jesuits to Chojnice. The Primate agreed to this and wrote to the Provincial of the Jesuits in Poland, Father Piotr Fabricius, who also agreed. Ultimately, the next provincial, Jan Argentus, sent two fathers from Gdańsk: Szymon Schreter and Krzysztof Kraus, who started their work in Chojnice on March 12, 1619. Initially, they were involved in missions in the vicinity of the city and pastoral help in the parish of Beheading of Saints. John. In 1620 OO. The Jesuits, together with the main founder, Fr. Jan G. Dorenkowski, they started to build a religious house

The fountain was created as the culmination of the renovation of the market square in 2002. The architecture of the fountain refers to classicist patterns. The fountain was built of sandstone, while the sculptures of female figures were made of bronze. At the base there are 12 water jets with illuminated streams with adjustable type and power of the water stream, additionally with the possibility of changing the color.

Chojnice Town Hall

Highlight • Monument

The impressive Chojnice Town Hall is one of the city's biggest attractions. It was opened in 1904. The charm of this neo-Gothic building is enhanced by modernist decorations. The high, staircase-shaped gable makes the building seem larger. It is worth seeing the City Council meeting room and the stained glass windows, which depict the virtues and duties of the authorities towards the residents. It is worth noting that the design was created by a Berlin architectural studio in 1901-1903. This characteristic building was built at the beginning of the 20th century, during the city's rapid development. The previous 16th-century Town Hall was demolished. magazynkaszuby.pl/atrakcje/chojnice-malowniczy-rynek

Old Town Square in Chojnice

Highlight • Settlement

On the Market Square in Chojnice there is a classicist fountain with figures of women made of bronze. This facility consists of 12 water nozzles that have the ability to change color. Of course, the fountain makes the greatest impression in the evenings. Lovers of regional products and folk handicrafts should go to a small gallery located right next to the Market Square. Wooden angels are especially worth recommending. Near the Market Square in Chojnice there is the Basilica of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist. The construction of this church began in 1340 and was completed in 1360. The three-nave church is in the Vistula Gothic style. It is worth seeing the Człuchowska Gate and visiting the Historical Museum located there. In addition to the permanent exhibition, you can see numerous exhibitions there, such as the Exhibition of Photography by Bike through Africa by Kazimierz Nowak from the years 1931-1936.

The stadium was put into use in 1932. It was rebuilt several times, e.g. in 1949, as part of preparations for an international friendly match against Sokol Brno, two ticket offices and a section of a brick fence were built, and the fans, together with the players, built a 100-meter-long covered stand. In the 21st century, the stadium was completely reconstructed. In the 1970s, the capacity of the stadium was over 10,000, while today it is 3,500. The highest attendance before the reconstruction of the stadium was 15,000 during the match of the 1/16 of the Polish Cup against Widzew Łódź, and after the reconstruction 3,500, during the last two matches of the 2012 season / 2013 ended with the promotion of Chojniczanka to the first league. Currently, league and cup matches of the first-league Chojniczanka Chojnice are held there. Polish representatives played at the stadium in cup matches against Chojniczanka, e.g. Zbigniew Boniek, Władysław Antoni Żmuda, Krzysztof Surlit, Włodzimierz Smolarek, Sebastian Murawski.

In September 2015, the modernization of the stadium was completed.
