The Eldena log windmill welcomes travelers from Greifswald from afar. In 1998 the new building of one of the oldest windmills on the Baltic coast was inaugurated. This bascule bridge leads over the Ryck River and connects the two Greifswald districts of Eldena and Wieck. It was inaugurated in 1887 and is now one of the oldest still existing and functioning wooden bascule bridges. You can rightly call it a landmark of Greifswald or Wieck.
