Thanks for the highlight :)
This is always my house/evening round. Nice to drive here. How they redid this section, did they dutifully “concrete” everything? and then sprinkled the gravel over it, but it would certainly be nicer without gravel ;)
But in any case it's better to drive now than before!

Wienfluss Cycle Path

Highlight • Cycleway

The Vienna River Cycle Path is a popular and safe cycle path that runs along the Vienna River from Auhof to the Kennedy Bridge. It is 13 kilometers long and offers many sights and recreational opportunities. For example, you can visit the Lainzer Tiergarten, the Moser Villa, Schönbrunn Palace or the Naschmarkt. The cycle path can be used all year round, but you should pay attention to the seasonal opening times and the flood warning system.

Wienerwaldsee Dam

Highlight • Monument

The Wienerwaldsee dam is a structure that creates a shallow reservoir in the Vienna Woods. The lake is located 20 km west of Vienna and serves as a flood retention basin for the Vienna River and the Wolfsgrabenbach. The lake was built between 1895 and 1897 and was previously a useful and drinking water reservoir for the Wiental water pipeline. Today the lake is a water protection area and a popular destination for cyclists and walkers. On the northern bank there is a monument to Wilhelm Kress, who had an accident with his seaplane here in 1901.

Actually we wanted to go back via Laab im Walde and Lainzer Tierpark. But there was no longer a cycle path on the main road and we didn't know our way around. So it went back again, if you know the area better, you can drive it all around,

Really nice tour in beautiful nature! The Wienerwaldsee is worth seeing and we recommend: on the way back, take a break at the main square in Purkersdorf. Nice restaurants and a lovely car-free main square!

Today we cycled around the Wienerwaldsee again in beautiful weather. The colors of the trees are simply wonderful!
On the way back, I took a slightly different route this time. At 27.7km I turned left and then drove a path "above" the tracks. There you could stop every 10m and take pictures of the trees: D
