Wittes Quarry

Highlight • Natural

The name of the quarry goes back to the Wittes family, who had porphyry quarried here until 1935. Today it is a small natural paradise, where there is also a small rest area.

It is best to park at the Kobershain church. The ice cream parlor in Schildau is on the way and is open every afternoon on weekends.

Showing Translation

Start today in Schildau. The city is proud of its old stories and in some places tells of the Schildbürger people. There is also a museum. The square at the Schildberturm is simply impressive, how lovingly everything is laid out and maintained there. I can only recommend the region for hiking!🍀🙋🏻‍♀️
