May 12, 2025,💍per argini 🚴🏼‍♀️ Padova - Bovolenta - Battaglia Terme
It's been since the end of 2024 that I haven't done a ride over 50 km...and I felt them more than anything else in staying in the saddle for a few hours.
The ride is still worth it, because it's not very crowded, far from smog and with very few orchards/vineyards nearby (and the consequent poisonous air).

Due Carrare is an Italian municipality of 8,981 inhabitants in the province of Padua in Veneto, located south of the capital. It was born from the merger of the municipalities of Carrara San Giorgio and Carrara Santo Stefano, established by a popular referendum on 26 February 1995 and sanctioned by the subsequent regional law of 21 March 1995.

The Catajo castle is a monumental building of 350 rooms, considered the palace of the Euganean Hills; it was built starting from the 16th century by Pio Enea I Obizzi near Battaglia Terme, in the province of Padua.

There's a stretch of embankment before reaching Bovolenta, after the completed gas pipeline, the Bacchiglione Destro embankment, where there was a construction site now decommissioned. It's blocked, but you can ride underneath it. The next section has very tall grass and you'll ride along a very narrow tunnel. You need to be careful. However, it's passable.
