Observation tower in Taucha city park

As early as 1905, the city council of the city of Taucha decided to build a lookout tower in the "König-Albert-Park" (today city park). It took a few more years until it was ceremoniously consecrated in May 1913 - as the "crowning glory" of the park at a height of 143 m.

Despite the renovation work carried out over the decades, the tower was in disrepair in the early 1990s. That is why extensive construction work was carried out, especially in 1994 and 1995, to restore the lookout tower to its former glory. In September 1995 it was reopened as part of the 825th anniversary of the city of Taucha.

The tower is 22 m high and there are 99 steps to climb before you can enjoy the view of the surrounding area.
