Abney

Highlight • Settlement

Abney is a tiny village in the High Peak. It doesn't have a shop or pub but it's a very pretty place to walk through on a walk around the moors.

February 22, 2022,Sir William Hill, Durham Edge & Shatton Moor (3 Ethels 2 trigs)
A frustrating trig bagging walk! I thought that we could get access to Durham Edge trig via the Gliding Club but they're discouraging people visiting now so wouldn't let us. Apparently the farmer is unhappy with people wanting to go to the trig. Another one chalked down to #closeenoughisgoodenough.
