Juniper Hiking Trail on the Jurasteig — View of Hohenburg Castle Ruins

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

The castle is now unveiled.
The section of the route from the Jurasteig is very easy to walk and leads across nutrient-poor grassland and juniper heaths along the exposed slope, simply wonderful.

October 7, 2023,🥾 Allersburg - Hohenburg - Burgruine Hohenburg 🏰
Today we went from Allersburg to Hohenburg to the Hohenburg castle ruins.
A fantastic view awaited us, but unfortunately the weather wasn't great today, cloudy and cold...
Still a nice tour, back to the car we went through Hohenburg itself, this town looks more like a ghost town, almost every second house is lost...

Today's tour took @Stefan and me to the Lauterachtal - from Allersburg we went along the Lauterachtal cycle path to Hohenburg up to the ruins there and then back on the other side of the valley via the Hufiweg, juniper and Jura trails on the grassy slope.

Had a great tour with @Stoapfalzb(h)iker today. We ventured into the "danger area military training area" and were rewarded with a fantastic view.

The next 'we meet in the middle' holiday. Father's Day this year before Mother's Day.
The weather forecast didn't lie and the weather turned out to be beautiful.

Already on the journey I noticed a few vehicles full of men, although I couldn't tell if they were fathers 🤪.

Beautiful 10 km loop on the Jurasteig with a detour to the Hohenburg castle ruins, which are located in the Hohenfels military training area. A visit is possible at your own risk.
At the end there was a wonderful cooling off for the tired feet...... T-shirt weather on March 8th 👍😎🌞

With the sunshine you just have to get out! Something "easy" today. The tour is done once with and once without the castle. A castle is a must!
The tour was interesting. Lots of sun, through the Jura region with lots of great pine trees. The fortified church was also something. It was added without further ado.
I have to …
