Seußlitz Baroque Palace

Highlight • Castle

In 1722, the Saxon Chancellor Heinrich Graf von Bünau bought the property. He had a baroque three-wing complex built on the foundations of the monastery according to plans by the council carpenter George Bähr.

The Heinrichsburg is a simple two-story garden house in the Diesbar-Seusslitz palace gardens. It is beautiful and picturesque in the main axis of the park. It was named after Count Heinrich von Bünau.

Through the castle park, which is looked after voluntarily by the park angels (a big compliment and thank you here, otherwise it would be pure wilderness) up to Heinrichsburg. At …

Enjoying a small part of the Saxon wine trail in the most beautiful autumn weather, that was the plan and we were not disappointed. Battery charged, soul caressed, social contacts maintained. This bar Seußlitz is always worth a trip.👍🍷

The mulled wine festival has been held here on the first weekend of February for the past four years.

Combined with a short hike, we were able to enjoy delicious drinks and food at various wineries.

Have you seen the mussels in the drained Seußlitz park pond?
