A great reflection in the sun, so only worth seeing when the sky is at least a little blue.

Despite this being signposted as an advanced hike, I saw a lot of people doing it in sneakers, which really aren't appropriate! Beautiful views, but make sure you have the right gear with you to tackle it and keep safe!

You should have some reserves of fitness, the track is more difficult and tricky than described in some parts. Good footwear is a must. Not recommended for inexperienced hikers.

It was more of a via ferrata than a hiking trail. About halfway along the trail, the terrain changed. It became steep, you had to climb over wet, mossy rocks and use roots or branches to climb up and down. Thanks to the countless streams, the track is slippery even on dry days.

Showing Translation

Beautiful, but in parts quite challenging hike to the vantage point for the Franz Josef Glacier

Showing Translation

Today we're crossing 4 suspension bridges. The lower part of the trail is quite easy to walk. The upper part is more challenging. Often over rocks, and sometimes quite slippery.
The view of the glacier is great, but it has already retreated a long way.

A beautiful hike, 4.5-5.5 hours of walking time. After the fourth suspension bridge, the wet rocks become increasingly slippery, sometimes even in the stream. The downhill section is particularly challenging, requiring surefootedness.

Showing Translation

Its a good challenge and reward. If it's going to rain take shoes you trust not to slip as large sections if the track are smooth rock faces.
