Bagthorpe Lane

Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

Nice smooth tarmac lane to begin with. Turns in to a fast and flowing downhill, concentration required if you get some speed up. At the other end a stiff climb brings you on to Westwick Lane. Great fun 🤩

Shillito Woods Trail

Highlight • Forest

Fantastic single-track for about a mile. At its best in spring and late summer as it gets muddy and overgrown. Watch out for the drop off before the river but don't worry it is rollable.

Sid Lane Singletrack

Highlight • Trail

Handy piece of nice singletrack. If run uphill it makes a great link between Mill Lane & Grimsell Lane (Horsleygate singletrack) as downhills.

Cartledge Bridleway

Highlight • Trail

Be prepared for a long hard climb unless of course you start at Cartledge 🤦‍♂️

Black Car Bridleway

Highlight • Cycleway

Great cut-through to/from Cartledge. Gets very muddy after wet weather.

Gateland Lane Singletrack

Highlight • Cycleway

Another great section of singletrack, a few large stones in places, nice flowing downhill to Barlow

Sud Brook Crossing Singletrack

Highlight • MTB Park

A fun fast and narrow path just a bit too ouchy in summer. At the bottom get ready to engage the granny ring as the climb out is short but very sharp in slippy gravel.

Comments

August 10, 2024,Nice loop from Barlow with PGG
Nice decent at the end , bit overgrown in places but generally rideable for whole of the ride
Perfect time of the year for this tremendous, classic loop.
The glutinous mud has turned to stone and the marauding undergrowth has not yet rampaged across the DH trails. The Fords are just a splash and the weather is not yet full hot. If you have a decent MTB then it would be a crime not to let it loose …
Linacre North Classic MTB loop, entertaining with something for everyone. Glorious gravel DH singletrack, some rocky, rough & rooty plus several shallow stream crossings.

Obviously some climbing to regain the height but worth it to enjoy the Nuttack Lane, High Lane (Wigley), Cartledge, Johnnygate/Mill Lane and Gateland Lane descents.
