July 16, 2022,6.und letzte Etappe des Alpe-Adria von Udine bis Grado 16.7.22
Today the last stage of the AAR from Udine to Grado. Short stopover in Palmanova and met the nice 4 young people again and enjoyed a 🍨 together. Then we went to Aquileia and then finally the sea 🌊 in Grado. After 6 days I can say it was exhausting but it was worth it.

Today, we headed towards Grado on the Adriatic Sea in 👍 weather.
The quiet roads led us steadily downhill.
The town of Palmanova is worth a visit.🕌
Aovileia is an El Dorado for archaeologists. Large-scale excavations and reconstruction are taking place there with European funding. The wind blew strongly 💪 in our faces for the last few kilometers. We reached …

We drove from Udine to Grado with good weather - we had prepared ourselves for a rainy day but instead we saw "Gone with the Wind". The scenery was unexciting but the main square in Palmanova was disappointing - so big and there was only a fairground there. Lasting impression - at the end of many tree-lined avenues there was …

Today we embarked on the final leg of our wonderful tour. We started by cycling up to the Castello de Udine, then stopped in the star-filled city of Palmanova, then visited the historic town of Aquileia. And then the finish line in Grado over the 5km long footbridge – simply a dream.

Our journey back starts today.

Pure sunshine ☀️☀️, 30 degrees, light breeze from the sea, tailwind. Simply 😀 beautiful.

You can already make out the mountains, despite the haze.

The view of the cities in this direction is different than on the way there.

Now we can deepen our impressions.

Very nice tour through mainly agricultural landscape.
The tour is passable without effort, the battery consumption is low.
The cycle path runs mainly on side roads with little traffic, cycle paths or gravel paths.
The signage is partly exactly the opposite of the Komoot route, but you always get to the planned route within …

The 6th and final stage of our Alpe-Adria cycle route took us from Udine to Grado.

The temperatures are still well over 30 degrees, but today the arrival at the sea is a tempting motivation to keep going.

Almost exactly halfway through the tour we stop for a break in the historic town of Palmanova, which was planned as an …
